I am looking to purchase a vacation package to WDW, and it looks as though I can use a $200 deposit. I cannot find a straight answer anywhere about whether or not the deposit is an extra charge or if it is subtracted, thus lowering the remaining dues?

Hi Kaitlin! You did the right thing by coming to planDisney after you were unable to find an answer to your question. I’m happy to help my fellow resident of Pennsylvania!

When you create a Walt Disney World Resort package (room reservation and theme park tickets), you will be asked to make a $200 deposit. That deposit is subtracted from your total amount due. So, consider that $200 deposit as your first payment toward your total vacation package! It is not an additional charge.

Kaitlin, you can also make incremental payments toward your vacation package! You can make payments through your My Disney Experience account on the Walt Disney World Resort website. Once you log in to your My Disney Experience account, select “My Plans.” You should see an area that states, “Make a Payment.” Select that option and make a payment in any amount you choose. You can make payments as frequently, and in any amount, you choose! Whatever balance is left, will be due 30 days prior to your vacation arrival date!

I hope this information is helpful as you continue with your Walt Disney World Resort vacation reservations! Keep in mind that prices are subject to change. Come on back to planDisney with any additional questions!

    Happy Planning!
