If staying at a resort hotel, can I make a reservation for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe at animal kingdom for the night before we will be in that park or does the reservation have to be on the actual night on which we use our ticket to get into the park?

    Hi Melanie,

Welcome to our planDisney jungle! I'm excited to hear you are mapping out a course for adventure at the Walt Disney World Resort for your visit in January. I also love to brainstorm where I’ll be and where we want to eat in the early stages of planning so that I’m ready to go when it comes time to secure dining reservations. Let’s dig into what you can do for this fun meal together.

This is a great question, and I appreciate how you think. Good news – Rainforest Café at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is located just outside the entrance to the theme park, so there is no relationship between your theme park tickets and dining dates. You can use Disney Transportation to get to Disney’s Animal Kingdom or park your vehicle in the theme park parking lot, and as you approach the beautiful main entrance, you’ll see a little outdoor gift shop and the Rainforest Café entrance to your left as you approach the gate. You will not need to present or scan a theme park ticket to enter for a meal and can book this dining experience for any day that suits you during your trip.

There is also a Rainforest Café location in Disney Springs, if that location is more convenient for your plans on the day that you aren’t headed to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Be sure to make your reservation at the exact location you desire, as both are listed on the Walt Disney World Resort website.

Rainforest Café is always a fun meal, no matter which location you choose. The friendly animatronics, lush jungle theme, and lengthy menu make for a memorable time out together! I like to share an appetizer with friends or family, treat myself to a colorful themed cocktail, and try to save room to share a dessert too. My son has always had a great meal here, and it is a wonderful place for kids as there are ambient noises to distract them and plenty of atmosphere to keep the little ones’ attention through a meal.

I hope this helps you know what you can expect and provides input into your planning, Melanie! Please let us know what else we can help you with as you put these special details together for an amazing vacation. We love to share our tips!

Wishing you a roarin’ good time at your meal,
    Amy
