Greetings, Erin!
Welcome to planDisney and congratulations on your upcoming stay at the brand new
Pixar Place Hotel! I'm really excited for you to see this wonderful new space. On my most recent visit to the Resort, I stayed at
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel right after the lobby went through its major transformation and the murals and overall design are stunning! I took so many pictures in there, so be sure to take a good look around the lobby when you arrive.
In response to your question, I spoke to a Cast Member at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. On select nights, Guests may watch fireworks from the third floor
Finding Nemo inspired Pool Deck. The synchronized soundtrack will even be piped in through the speakers. You will need your hotel key to enter this area, so technically it is only accessible to hotel Guests. By the way, the Cast Members are super excited by the upcoming transformation into the Pixar Place Hotel! Back in 2022, they were even given a
surprise party at the announcement, which was really cool!
If there is a choice between watching fireworks from the hotel or from
Main Street, U.S.A., hands down I would always pick Main Street! If you don't mind being in the middle of a crowd, these nighttime spectaculars were developed with the intention of having the most impact for Guests viewing from Main Street and the Hub right in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle! It is absolutely one of the most magical places to be when the fireworks begin. From the emotional soundtrack to projections to fireworks (not to mention practical effects like Baymax or snow), being in the middle of it all would be the best seat in the house! Of course, everyone will have to have a Theme Park Ticket and valid reservation to enter Disneyland Park. If your in-laws won't have tickets, many Guests gather in the Esplanade between the two Park entrances to watch fireworks as well.
Fun Fact: The soon to be Pixar Place Hotel was originally built in 1984 to support the Los Angeles Summer Olympics. Disney purchased the property in 1995, turning it into the
Disney Pacific Hotel, then Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel in 2000 before now becoming the Pixar Place Hotel. It's gone through a lot of changes and this most recent reimagining looks fantastic!
Erin, I hope that this response helped you plan out your day with your in-laws. If you need anything further, please visit us again anytime. We'd love to hear from you and you're always welcome at planDisney! Until next time!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
