Hi Amy!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with another great question! How exciting that you’re thinking about going on a
Keys to the Kingdom tour. My husband and I agreed that that’s some of the best money we’ve ever spent at Disney World! That tour was just AMAZING.
You’ll be asked to check in for your tour at Town Square Theater (at the front of
Magic Kingdom) 15 minutes before the start of it. So, although it might be a tight squeeze, I think you’d be able to sneak on a ride with a short standby queue as long as you’re there right at the beginning of Early Entry. Just make sure you give yourself plenty of time to make it back up to the front of the park for your tour!
When you check in, you’ll place your lunch order and get your listening device set up, and then you’ll head off on your 5-hour walking tour. You’ll get to see a whole other side of the Magic Kingdom–literally! You’ll be taken backstage and into the utilidors (the underground tunnels!). Plus, you’ll learn all about the history of the park. It really brings the magic up a notch knowing all that goes into it!
My husband and I strategically booked a
Lightning Lane Single Pass for TRON at the end of the tour, so we could jump right into some fun at the park once the tour was over. The tour ends where it started, though, so if you’re ready to head back to your resort to rest afterward, that works, too.
You can book the Keys to the Kingdom tour 60 days prior to your check-in date if you’re staying at a Disney World resort. I recommend booking as soon as you can to snag a spot because this tour does fill up with how popular it is. It’s also good to note that if you’re an Annual Passholder or Disney Vacation Club member, you’ll be eligible for a 15% discount when booking (subject to change).
Let me know if you have any other questions about the tour (or anything else for that matter!). I hope you have the absolute best time!
