Hi Sophie!
Welcome to planDisney! I celebrated my birthday the SAME way last year – by going on the 8 AM
Keys to the Kingdom tour. You’re going to absolutely love it!
The
buses from the resorts to the parks usually start running about 45 minutes prior to the listed Early Entry time. Looking ahead at the park hours in March, the Magic Kingdom is set to open for Early Entry at 8:30 AM. So, it might be a little tight!
Keep
checking the park hours leading up to your trip because they could change. But if you need a different option to get to the park on time, I’d recommend booking a
Minnie Van through the Lyft app to ensure you make it to the tour on time.
As a heads up, the Magic Kingdom opened at 8:30 AM for Early Entry when I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour, too. When we got to the park, we let the Cast Members know that we were there for the early tour, but since all guests are let into the Magic Kingdom about 30 minutes prior to Early Entry, they had us wait and enter with everyone else. That happened to be at the exact time our tour was supposed to start.
While I was initially nervous that we’d be late, it turned out to be no big deal at all! So, no worries if you end up in the same boat. You’ll have plenty of time to sign in, place your lunch order, and get your headset ready to go for the tour.
I came out of that tour appreciating the magic more than ever! It was one of my all-time favorite experiences at Disney, and I hope the same for you. Happy early birthday to you and your mom!
