Hi! if im traveling with toddler, which character restaurant is the best for picky eaters in Orlando?

    Hey there, Monica!

I'm absolutely delighted to welcome you to planDisney, and thank you for stopping by with your question today! It looks like you'll be visiting Walt Disney World right as the holiday season is getting underway, and I have to say, that's one of my favorite times of year to be there. There's something so special about seeing the parks transform with festive decorations, holiday music, and seasonal magic around every corner. How exciting that you'll get to experience it all for yourself!

Although my kids are older now, I still clearly remember the toddler years and how tricky picky eating could be. Thankfully, I always found plenty of options at Walt Disney World that worked for them. You’ll find kid-friendly staples like chicken tenders and mac & cheese throughout the parks and resorts, which makes mealtime much easier.

Character Dining was one of my absolute favorite things to do when my kids were little. It’s such a wonderful way for children to meet their favorite characters in a relaxed setting, without long lines, while also enjoying a great meal together. In my experience, buffet-style character dining was always the biggest hit because there’s such a wide variety of food, making it easy for everyone to find something they like. Many buffets even include a dedicated kids’ section with familiar favorites.

As for specific recommendations, Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a classic choice if you’re hoping to meet Mickey Mouse and his friends. Just keep in mind that the atmosphere can be lively and a bit loud, especially with the monorail running right through the resort.

If you’re looking for something a little more relaxed, Tusker House Restaurant at Animal Kingdom is a great option and also features Mickey and friends in a more laid-back setting. In Magic Kingdom, The Crystal Palace offers a delicious buffet with fun items like churro Mickey waffles and character visits with Winnie the Pooh and friends. And over at Hollywood Studios, Hollywood & Vine is a great choice for meeting Minnie Mouse and her pals while enjoying a solid buffet with plenty of variety for kids and adults alike.

Monica, I hope this has given you some helpful options for character dining during your visit. Thank you so much for visiting us at planDisney…we’re always happy to help!

    Bon Appétit,
