Hi Karin,
There is nothing better than crossing the finish line at Walt Disney World. I have participated in the
Disney Princess Half Marathon a few times and the whole experience is exhilarating. I like to keep up with the
runDisney Blog ahead of my trip to make sure I am up on all things runDisney before I arrive and so I know what merchandise I am going to grab first!
Proof of time is required if you suspect that you will finish the half marathon in 2 hours and 15 minutes or less. If that is not the case then you just submit your expected time and they will put you with that pacing group. Luckily, runDisney understands that several of their runners come from all over the world. I have had a few friends submit times from foreign races that were accepted. One of the biggest caveats is that the race must be officially timed and results must be posted publicly on the event page for verification by Disney World race moderators. If you have concerns about what you are submitting, you can always contact disneysports@trackshack.com. They are super helpful and will help you confirm that you submit everything needed to be in the proper race corral.
If you have not already booked your Disney Resort hotel for your upcoming race, I highly recommend getting a reservation at
Disney's Contemporary Resort. This is where we typically stay for runDisney race weekends. I love this location because it provides quick access to the race start line and an easy route back to your room after the race to clean up for a fun day at the theme parks. I like to book one of the Garden Wing rooms because they offer more quiet than the main building so you can get to sleep early the night before your race!
Happy Planning,
Jenna
