Hi Sara,
Having two full weeks at Walt Disney World sounds absolutely magical. We normally only get a week or less so maximizing time spent on vacation is always a goal! There is so much to do at Disney World but with two weeks, you will have plenty of time to mark off all the must-do items on your list.
First and foremost are the 4 theme parks,
Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. I would plan to spend at least 2 full days at each theme park. This will give you plenty of time to ride all of the attractions and make it to most of the shows, parades, and fireworks spectaculars. I would also set aside at least one day for exploring each of the following: Disney Springs, Disney's Port Orleans Resort, and Disney's Water Parks. That still leaves you several days to revisit your favorite rides and restaurants again before you head home!
At Magic Kingdom, I would prioritize riding some of the newest attractions like Tiana's Bayou Adventure and TRON Lightcycle / Run as well as the classic rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean. I would also make sure you stay late at least one evening to experience
Happily Ever After for one of the best fireworks shows of your life. I don't like being in big crowds for Happily Ever After, so my favorite way to experience this show is on the balcony of California Grill after a fabulous multi-course meal.
EPCOT is one of my favorite theme parks because there is a lot more emphasis on culture and food. During your visit, the
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival will typically be in full bloom. This is a wonderful way to spend an entire day marveling at the character-shaped topiaries, eating your way through the festival food booths, and wandering through the butterfly garden. There are also some serious adventures to be had at EPCOT particularly Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmis Rewind which is truly out of this world fun!
Animal Kingdom is a fabulous theme park to spend a day exploring the wildlife. We like to devote time for our kids to participate in
Wilderness Explorers which engages them in an adventure through the theme park to learn more about the world around them. All of the rides and attractions at this park are doable in 2 days, and I would plan to make my way to all of them!
Hollywood Studios is all about behind-the-scenes fun. For Star Wars fans, walking in Batuu feels like you have actually walked right into one of the movies and the rides there make are an immersive experience. If you have some major fans in your party, I would devote time to building a lightsaber at Savi's Workshop for a memorable souvenir!
I would dedicate one day during the middle of your trip to relaxing and recuperating a little before you dive back into all of the fun.
Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter has a fabulous pool for lounging and the best beignets in all of Disney World. Make sure to check the activities board when you arrive for a schedule of events during your trip. There will be movie nights outside and poolside parties to keep you entertained during your resort day and in the evenings!
Happy Planning,
Jenna
