Hiya Thomas,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for your question. In every family, there is one person who doesn't want to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth. Mine is my dad, and despite endless convincing, he still hasn't budged.
Thomas,
Walt Disney World Resort Vacation Packages are amazing! I love how they combine Theme Park tickets and a stay at one of the resort hotels. Even more magical is that they can be paid off over time, which makes them super budget-friendly. Unfortunately, Thomas, when you book a Walt Disney World Vacation Package at the Florida resident price, both the resort hotel and the Theme Park tickets require valid
Florida Residency verification for all Guests over 17 years old. Since your Florida resident family member is not planning on joining you (and I'm guessing for your question, the rest of your party are not Florida residents), you could not take advantage of the Florida resident pricing. The great news, Thomas, is if you can convince your family member to join you as a Guest at a resort hotel (the pools alone would make me join in even if I didn't want to visit Theme Parks), then you can have them make a room-only reservation. Florida Residents are permitted to have non-Florida resident Guests stay in the room with them and still take advantage of the special pricing. However, you and any other Guests without Florida residency would need to purchase Theme Park tickets at the standard rate.
I hope this was helpful, Thomas. Planning a vacation for a family can be so much fun (I'm planning one myself right now), but it can also be a challenge. If you need any additional tips and tricks, please come back and see
us. We would be happy to help! Fingers crossed that you can get your family member to join in!
Happy Planning!
