I'm a DVC member. My family of nine is booked at Saratoga Springs for six nights and has purchased four-day ticket passes. Can I add the dining plan?

Hi Sandra, welcome home and welcome to planDisney! An upcoming stay at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa with a large group is certainly a great way to spend a Walt Disney World vacation. In fact, our first stay as Disney Vacation Club members was also a large party at Saratoga Springs, including two sets of grandparents to celebrate my daughter’s first birthday! Now, let’s dive into your question on using the Disney Dining Plan as DVC Members!

Sandra, you’ll be happy to know that you can add the dining plan to your upcoming stay at Saratoga Springs! There are two ways in which you can add a dining plan to a stay using your Vacation Points. First, you can contact Member Services and have a DVC Cast Member add the dining plan. Second, you can add it on the DVC website by selecting your reservation under your Member Dashboard and selecting “Trip Options”, followed by “Purchase Dining Plan”. Easy peasy! No need to worry about only having a four-day ticket to the theme parks. In fact, my family purchased the dining plan during our week-long trip over spring break with five-day tickets purchased for our daughters. So I can confirm that you’ll have no issues adding the dining plan to your stay!

Sandra, here’s some important tidbits regarding adding on the dining plan to DVC stays using your Vacation Points. The dining plan must be added at least 48 hours prior to check-in. Since you’ll be arriving in a couple of days, make sure you add it right away! In addition, you’ll have to add the dining plan for the entire length of stay. Finally, the entire party on the reservation must purchase the same dining plan. Sandra, here’s a bonus tip! Did you know that for 2026, kids ages 3 through 9 get a free dining plan so long as each adult on the reservation purchases a dining plan? It’s a great promotion that also works for DVC stays at Walt Disney World!

Sandra, I hope this is music to your ears and I’m hoping you have safe travels and a wonderful vacation at Walt Disney World! One last thing before I go, since you’ll be arriving in just a couple days, be sure to visit one of the water parks on your check-in day. As part of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, admission is free on your check-in day, a great way to make a big splash on your summer vacation! If you have any further questions about getting the most out of your DVC membership or Disney vacation planning in general, feel free to contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
