Hi Jonathan, welcome home and welcome to planDisney! As a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member I love spending time at the DVC Resort I’m staying at. I also love checking out nearby Walt Disney World Resort hotels. It’s a great way to take a break from the theme parks and to scope out the next Resort hotel on our bucket list! Now, let’s talk about what’s currently allowed when it comes to Resort hopping.
You’ll be happy to know that guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, including DVC Members, can utilize complimentary bus transportation to visit a Disney Resort hotel. I know that there has been much discussion about new policies regarding use of Disney transportation.
According to current guidance for bus transportation, guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel may be asked to show a valid Resort hotel room key, dining reservation or experience reservation when boarding a bus from Disney Springs to Disney Resort hotels.
In addition to Resort hopping, here are some suggestions I have for other activities and unique experiences you may want to consider on your next Walt Disney World trip! The
Starlight Safari at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a fun and unique way to see over 30 species of African wildlife that roam the savannas. You might also want to consider a
fireworks cruise on Seven Seas Lagoon to enjoy the Happily Ever After fireworks without the need for a theme park ticket and, more importantly, without the crowds! Finally, if you’re up for some adventure, the
guided fishing excursions on Bay Lake or around Crescent Lake will take you to all the hotspots for some catch-and-release fishing. They’ll supply the fishing gear and bait and you’ll bring the fun!
Jonathan, I hope this clarifies things for you. I suggest staying up to date on the transportation policies by visiting this website as they are always subject to change. If you have any further questions about getting the most out of your DVC Membership or Disney vacation planning in general, please feel free to
contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
