Hi Natalie,
Welcome back to planDisney! You have discovered one of Disney World's best-kept secrets.
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground has an abundance of fabulous activities and food that will make you feel like you are enjoying a home-cooked meal. This escape feels like you have been transported into the woods right in the middle of all the magic at Disney World.
Unfortunately, you can only park at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort if you are a guest or have a dining or activity reservation. That does not mean that you can't visit and explore the grounds or eat at
Trail's End Restaurant. You will just need to find another mode of transportation. All of Disney World's theme parks and Disney Springs will have transportation to each of the Disney Resort hotels. If you want to visit one of them, the easiest thing to do is park at a theme park or Disney Springs and jump on whatever mode of
Disney transportation is most convenient.
Since you are headed to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, the closest spot to park and ride would be in the Magic Kingdom parking lot. You will have to hop on the monorail to the Magic Kingdom entrance and then make your way to the bus center for a ride over to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.
I recommend making an activity reservation for the
Fort Wilderness Archery Experience or a
Horse Drawn Excursion. With an activity reservation, you can park at the Resort and head directly to the fun. Regardless of whether you are a Merida or a Cinderella at heart, there is a princess-inspired activity waiting for you! Once you finish your adventure, you can head over to Trail's End Restaurant for some delicious fried chicken.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
