Penny,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
My family and I just got back from a Thanksgiving vacation at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and it was just as magical as ever!
As we were admiring the Gingerbread House that they built for the holidays in the hotel's main lobby, we checked out the
Garden View Tea Room. Having enjoyed high tea with my parents several times as I grew up, I had hoped to share that experience with my teenagers as well. Unfortunately, the high-tea, and the other dining and entertainment events that this room often hosts, are still unavailable. That is the bad news.
So what is the good news?Well, the room still sits in its pristine state, ready to be put back into service. While many of the public spaces of the resort were just renovated, this room remains as perfect as ever. While I don't have any behind-the-scenes knowledge, I can only guess that if they were going to do away with this experience they would have repurposed that room as well. So my advice is to keep checking the website for updates, and of course, keep asking us at planDisney!
BONUS TIPIf you want high tea, get ready for the arrival at
Disney's BoardWalk of the
Cake Bake Shop, by Gwendolyn Rogers! I live just 10 minutes away from one of her two current sites, and I assume that this site will offer her signature afternoon tea service which is a wonderful experience not to be missed!
Please feel free to
write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
