Hey there, Jerrica! Thanks for bringing this great question to us at planDisney.
Hooray! I'm so excited to hear that you're planning a magical vacation to
Walt Disney World Resort in January. Honestly, I can't think of a better way to ring in the new year than with lots of fun and some added pixie dust! You made an extra special choice by calling
Disney's Contemporary Resort "home" during your upcoming vacation. There's nothing like spending an enchanting evening at Magic Kingdom Park and then
walking back to your resort at night! You're truly in for an incredible time.
Like you, I love seeing the windows at several Disney Resorts Collection hotels decorated for the season! I know you're wondering if you'd be able to decorate your door at your resort, too. After
reaching out to a Cast Member, I can confirm that Guests are allowed to decorate their windows, but not doors. The doors at Disney Resorts Collection hotels aren't magnetic like they would be on Disney Cruise Line and Guests need to be careful to not use anything that would stick to or damage the door. I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, but I still have a few ideas for you!
- You're welcome to decorate the window inside your room! Plastic suction cups, banners, and vinyl window clings are all great ideas to personalize your space.
- Order some In-Room Floral & Gifts! This is a special way to add a little surprise and delight to your room (and to the Guests lucky enough to be in your travel party!).
- Here's my husband's secret tip that he brings with him on every vacation: set out a few strands of twinkle lights. No matter the time of year, a battery-operated set of fairy twinkle lights always brings tons of joy to any space!
Jerrica, I'm wishing upon a star that your upcoming trip is an extra special one. If you have any other questions, please write to us again – we're always happy to help!
See ya real soon,
Michelle
