Hi Maria Fernanda! Welcome to planDisney. I, too, am excited for
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort, and especially all of the spooky and not-so-scary fun to be had.
The Headless Horseman's ride has become an iconic part of Disney California Adventure’s Halloween festivities. In years past, you could only catch his ride during the
Oogie Boogie Bash, as he does not appear during regular park hours. During the event, the Headless Horseman typically rode just before the Frightfully Fun Parade. However, as
Madame Leota's Swinging Wake will be on tap this year instead of the parade, Disney has not yet released details on whether the Headless Horseman will return. If he does return, Oogie Boogie Bash would likely be your only opportunity to see him.
However, on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure, there is a statue of the Headless Horseman across from Carthay Circle Restaurant. Disney Photopass photographers are typically around the statue to help you capture your encounter with this Halloween icon. Also, be sure to visit at night as the Headless Horseman statue comes to “life,” with chilling music and lighting effects. It’s one of my favorite parts of the Halloween season at the Disneyland Resort.
If you do decide to purchase tickets to the Oogie Boogie Bash, then there is another area you need to visit.
Villains Grove transforms the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail into an eerie and beautifully themed walkthrough experience featuring lighting effects, projections, and villain-inspired environments. It is one of the most unique areas in either park and is only open to guests of the Bash. It's a must-do every time I attend Oogie Boogie Bash.
As you can see, Maria Fernanda, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the fun of the Halloween season. If you have any additional questions or would like any other tips on how to have a ghoulishly good time at the parks, please visit us again at planDisney!
Happy early Halloween,
David
