Hello. Headed to Disney for SB. Thinking of asking grandparents that live in FL to join us. Is the Florida resident ticket a better deal than the military discount as my dad is retired military?

    Hi there, Jessica!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney! I’m so glad you decided to bring us your question. I’m a military spouse AND a Florida Resident, so I have experience with the Disney Military Salute Tickets and special offers for Florida Residents. I am happy to share my experience and knowledge to help you have the most magical time in Walt Disney World this spring!

I love that you want to bring your parents on your spring break trip. There is no age limit on the magic of Walt Disney World, and I have loved sharing our vacations with my mom over the years. Since your parents are Florida residents, they can purchase specially priced theme park tickets for Florida Residents for themselves. They cannot buy them for anyone who is not a Florida resident. Every adult using a Florida Resident ticket must provide Proof of Florida Residency in the form of one of the following:

    • Valid Florida driver’s license (must have a Florida address)
    • Valid Florida state-issued identification card (must have Florida address)
    • Valid Florida-based military identification

If your dad is a retired U.S. Military Member, he can purchase up to six 2025 Disney Military Salute Tickets. These Military Salute Tickets are available in 4-, 5-, and 6-Day options with the ability to add the Park Hopper or the Park Hopper Plus options. These tickets can be purchased through a military ticket sales office or Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort. Eligible Service Members must present valid military identification to buy and use Disney Military Salute Tickets. These tickets are not valid until an Eligible Service Member activates the tickets at a theme park ticket window. So, your dad can buy up to six tickets and activate them at a theme park ticket window before you use them on the first day. One of the tickets he activates must be for him. Once the tickets are activated, you can tap into the theme parks just like you would with any other theme park tickets.

The best deal for purchasing theme park tickets for your family will be using the 2025 Disney Military Salute Tickets since this is an offer your dad can take advantage of for up to six members of your family, including him. The Florida Resident tickets will only be available to Florida Residents. If you are inquiring about the best deal for just your parents, the 4-day Discover Disney Ticket for Florida Residents is currently priced lower than the 4-day Disney Military Salute Ticket.

I hope this helps you find the best deal for Disney theme park tickets, Jessica! When you visit this spring, don’t miss the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. It is my favorite festival, filled with blooming gardens, topiary displays of your favorite Characters, and some of the best spring-inspired culinary creations at the Outdoor Kitchens. If we can answer any more of your vacation questions, please bring them here to planDisney
