Hello Rachel!
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. I'm happy to serve as your ghost host for this
Haunted Mansion question.
As you may already know, 999 happy haunts currently reside in
Magic Kingdom Park's Dutch Gothic-style mansion. You'll find them spooking and crooning down the hall of portraits, through the ballroom into the eerie attic, and out into the graveyard before trying to hitch a ride home with you. Though these playful spirits are temporarily displaced at Disneyland Resort's counterpart during the holiday season, Jack Skellington does not typically cause any Halloween disturbances at the Florida mansion.
If you are hoping to experience Jack's delightfully macabre festivities, you'll need to visit
Disneyland Resort in California. Tucked away in New Orleans Square,
Haunted Mansion Holiday is currently available to guests via Virtual Queue and should offer plenty of frights and fun through Halloween. In years past this unique overlay has been available through the Christmas season, but the Hours & Events Calendar is not available beyond October 2, just yet.
I'm a fan of both versions, but only the traditional attraction experience delights (and terrifies) guests at Walt Disney World Resort year-round. You can confirm the operating hours for your specific date of visit by reviewing the calendar on the attraction page. The park will close early on days when
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is scheduled, but aside from that I don't see any other closures planned at this time. This is always subject to change, but I'm hopeful you won't miss the happy haunts during your September visit.
I hope this helped, Rachel. If you have any additional questions please send us a message (from somewhere beyond) and let us know. We'll be dying to have you back at planDisney until then.
Hurry back,
Amy
