Hi Jill!
Welcome back to planDisney! I appreciate you always coming to us for up-to-date information!
Disney World recently announced some big changes when it comes to
Virtual Queues, which I’m sure will change park strategies! So, I’m happy to help you out.
Beginning on February 25, 2025, there will no longer be Virtual Queues for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom or Guardians of the Galaxy at Epcot. And that includes the 6 PM Virtual Queue for deluxe resort guests.
Once the Virtual Queue is no longer offered, there will be a standby queue for both of those rides, but let’s chat about
Guardians of the Galaxy specifically.
To ride Guardians of the Galaxy, you’ll be able to purchase a
Lightning Lane Single Pass (pending availability) or join the standby queue. The great news is that the standby queue will be offered during Early Entry and Extended Evening Hours.
Of course, since the standby queue hasn’t started yet, we still don’t know what those wait times will look like. My guess is that you’ll have the best chance of lower wait times during Early Entry or toward the end of those Extended Evening Hours.
With how popular Guardians of the Galaxy is (I know it’s one of my favorites!), you might want to consider purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass that can be used during regular park hours. Since you’ll be
staying at a Disney World resort, you can book that beginning at 7 AM Eastern, 7 days prior to your check-in date (again, pending availability).
Now, fingers crossed you get the song September – I still haven’t gotten that one, and I hope for it every single time! Let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan.
