Welcome Foolish Mortal to
planDisney! I’m Shantel and I will be your host, your Ghost Host for the time being.
As you prepare for your visit there’s so much you all can enjoy as a troop! Including enjoying all of the
attractions together. You’ll also be able to experience one of my favorites,
Haunted Mansion if you haven’t already noticed. Plus, you’ll be visiting during my favorite
time of the year too! The decorations and seasonal offerings are so festive and fun during this time of the year. I'm sure you and your troop are going to have an amazing time.
Pin trading is a fun activity parkgoers can enjoy while visiting the parks. You’ll want to bring your pins from home so that you can trade in the parks. Some of our family’s best trades have been with Cast Members. Just look to see if a Cast Member has a pinboard or lanyard filled with pins. Once you find them, ask, and they will be more than happy to trade with you! If you haven’t started your pin collection just yet, you can start shopping for some
online. We have two separate lanyards, one for trading, and the other one holds our keepsake pins.
Another great bonding experience you can do as a troop is
Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit! You’ll get the chance to search high and low for pleasantly looking pumpkins throughout the Disneyland Resort. This is my daughter’s favorite activity! We spent so much time looking for the Moana-themed pumpkin last October that when we finally found it, we couldn’t help but laugh! Now, for this activity, you can mix it up and set your own internal rules, or you can purchase the scavenger map from a store and collect your creepy keepsake at the end. My family will usually purchase two maps and divide the hunt into two teams, boys versus girls. My daughter is the queen of scavenger hunts so she usually pulls in the win for us girls.
Beth, don’t forget to pop into
City Hall for a “First Visit” or “I’m Celebrating” button. This will be the perfect addition to celebrate your visit. I like to write the date of our visit on the back of our buttons when we arrive back home. And while I know these aren't like the formal badges your troop normally wears, they still make for a great souvenir.
Have the best time and if there’s anything else we can help with, you know where to find us!
Happy Haunts,
Shantel
