I am planning a trip to Disneyland with my husband and kids, ages 4 and 6. I am trying to decide if we should stay one day or two. Where is the best place to stay for kids this age?

Hello there and welcome to planDisney, Emily!

I’m so happy to hear that your family is planning a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth. It looks like you will even be visiting during the 70th Celebration, how magical! I am very excited for you, let’s get planning.

When visiting I like to plan for at least one day in each park, so I would plan for two days at minimum. There’s so much to do and see that you might even wish you would have made the trip a little bit longer. Before deciding, I recommend taking a look at the current special offers. There’s even a great ticket offer available now for a 4-day visit, which will allow your family to have more time exploring the theme parks.  Trust me, the extra time helps when traveling with little ones.

Now, let’s talk about where to stay. The three Disneyland Resort Hotels come with some extra benefits exclusive to their guests. Those benefits include special access to theme parks and staying in the Disney magic from the moment you wake up to the moment you go back to bed. Plus, the themed rooms and enchanting pools are a bonus. I recommend starting here and if you're looking for other options, don't worry I've got you!

When my family visits, we usually stay at a Good Neighbor Hotel that is within walking distance of Disneyland Resort. If we can walk, I’m in. Especially when visiting with a stroller. We like to “load and go”. That means packing the stroller with what we will need for the day and walking into the parks. Once my little ones are inside, they refuse to leave until the stars come out, so our stroller loaded with extra clothes, snacks, and jackets comes in handy. We recently graduated out of strollers so now all those extras are stored in a locker until we need them.

Emily, I hope this gives you an idea of where to start when it comes to planning for your visit. If you find yourself with more questions, don’t hesitate to ask. We are always here and ready to help.

    Happy Planning,

    Shantel
