Hi Kimberly,
Welcome to
planDisney! We are thrilled that you have stopped in to chat about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. It happens to be our favorite topic.
I have great news for you, Kimberly. There is a very simple solution to your missing MagicBand conundrum.
Think of your
My Disney Experience account as the place to organize all of your vacation plans and your MagicBands (Or MagicBand+) as the way to access them. Basically, that means that as long as the
Disney theme park tickets are contained in your Husband and daughter's My Disney Experience accounts, they can still access them. They could simply
purchase a new MagicBand and link it to their My Disney Experience account or they can choose to use
Disney MagicMobile on their mobile phones. It is totally up to you.
As far as your old MagicBand is concerned, keep in mind that the internal battery is designed to last between 2-3 years, depending on use. However, I have seen many of the original style MagicBands works years after they were first used to, "Tap Mickey to Mickey" for a purchase or Disney theme park entry. In fact, my mom still uses a limited edition
Dooney & Bourke MagicBand she purchased in 2016! So while I can't guarantee that it will work, I would definitely encourage you to give it a try.
There is no need to worry about deactivating the missing MagicBands. You can if it brings you some comfort, but their highest and best use without the corresponding fingerprint or 4-digit pin would be as a countdown chain for a future Walt Disney World Resort visit. Plus, maybe you will find them in the back of a sock drawer one day and the color will be perfect for your
Disney Bounding outfit!
I hope that is helpful for you, Kimberly! We are here for you if you have any other questions.
Wishing you many magical memories,
Sally
