Welcome to planDisney, Marie! Your
Walt Disney World Resort visit is practically here, so I hope you have your Minnie ears packed. I'm so sorry you misplaced your driver's license. The worst part for me is waiting at the DMV for a new one! Let's talk about the requirements to enter the theme parks on your upcoming trip.
If you purchased a general admission ticket online through your My Disney Experience account, you shouldn't be asked to show an ID when entering the theme parks. To check, open your
My Disney Experience mobile app and tap the three lines in the lower right corner. Choose the Tickets and Passes tile; any valid tickets should appear across the top.
Your linked MagicBand or
MagicBand+ will be your ticket when you arrive at the theme park. If you don't have a band, look for the "Save to Wallet" option under your ticket barcode in the app to activate
Disney MagicMobile Service in your phone's wallet. This will act as your ticket to enter the park.
You will be asked to show a valid ID if you need to
verify Florida residency or if your ticket type requires you to pick up a physical ticket at Will Call. If this is the case, I recommend contacting the
Existing Tickets line as soon as possible. They can look up your ticket type and advise you from there. If you are on Disney property now, I suggest you head to a
Guest Relations location or the
Front Desk at your Disney Resort Hotel to discuss your options.
My final tip is to bring along any other type of ID you have, such as a work ID or a valid US passport. I also suggest bringing insurance cards or bills with your name on them. I can't guarantee those will substitute for your driver's license, but it can't hurt to bring them with you.
Marie, we've all been there. That sinking feeling when you realize you've lost something important isn't very magical. But I'm sending all the pixie dust I have so you can enjoy your Disney vacation. I'm thinking happy thoughts! Please
stop by planDisney anytime.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
