Amy from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We are Florida residents and want to spend a few days at one of the Disney resorts for a staycation. Which resort has the most to do without having to go to any of the parks? Looking for something reasonably priced.

Welcome to planDisney, Amy! Thanks for stopping by with your question about the fabulous Disney Resorts hotels. There are so many wonderful resorts to choose from, with incredible theming and plenty of magic to enjoy without visiting the theme parks. I am happy to guide you so that you can select the Disney Resort hotel that is perfect for your budget and preferences.

You really can't choose a bad Disney Resort hotel, as they are all wonderfully unique and all have that level of Disney magic we have all come to know and love. Currently, a Florida Resident offer is available for rooms at select Disney Resort hotels this summer, for stays most nights from May 1 to July 31, 2025. There is another special offer for Florida Residents that picks up where this one leaves off for stays later in the summer from August 1 to October 11, 2025.  I highly recommend checking out these offers as you plan your Disney staycation. You might find that you can stay at one of the more expensive resorts, like Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, with one of these special offers.

I’ll start with a few of my favorite resorts in the Value Resort and Moderate Resort categories. My favorite Disney Resort hotel in the Value Resort category is Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, where you will find yourself surrounded by the art of some of your favorite Pixar and Disney movies. You can enjoy splashing around in the Big Blue Pool, the largest Walt Disney World Resort swimming pool, and scenic rides on the Disney Skyliner. The Caribbean Beach Resort stop has a Joffrey’s stand with fabulous iced coffee and sweet treats. My second favorite Value Resort is Disney’s Pop Century Resort, with fun theming that features fabulous fads from the 1950s to the 1990s.

My favorite resorts that fall in the Moderate Resort category are Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. Caribbean Beach Resort is sprawling, with hammocks and fun little relaxation spots sprinkled throughout the grounds. You can catch the EPCOT fireworks in the evenings from the comfort of the resort grounds. Both resorts offer incredible pools and delicious dining options, though Coronado Springs has the advantage with dining options, in my opinion.

I hope this information helps you narrow down your options for a wonderful Walt Disney World Resort stay. Have a magical vacation, Amy! If you have any more questions or need more advice or recommendations, we’re here for you at planDisney. Stop by anytime!
