Hiya, pal!
It’s so great to see you again at planDisney, Emily – thank you for trusting our advice and returning with a fun question. I love to think about future trips and how to differentiate them from our recent Disney experiences. My family are also Disney Vacation Club Members and I understand how we can get used to these Deluxe accommodations! As special as they are, I also understand that these resorts aren’t always the right fit for different types of travel. There are so many ways to enjoy the Walt Disney World Resort, and I’m happy to help you think through some new resort ideas for your immediate family to stay together next summer.
I just returned from a stay at
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, and you can’t go wrong with either side of this beautiful resort which boasts the most guest rooms on Disney property! It’s very peaceful and relaxing, with its southern style architecture and lush grounds. The Princess and the Frog themed rooms are beautiful, and there’s an option for a fifth sleeper if your family prefers to spread out for a comfortable slumber. There were many activities at the centrally located pool, including nightly s’mores over a fire and a great water slide. As a Guest at either Riverside or French Quarter, you are welcome to enjoy the restaurants, activities, and amenities at both.
Some friends recently enjoyed the unique Family Suites at
Disney’s All Star Music Resort and raved about the layout and value. These fun themed suites have one queen bed and two pull-down queen beds, as well as two bathrooms. There’s a family room area and a kitchenette, too. Let the rhythm move you at this larger-than-life musically themed resort, Emily!
An out-of-the-box idea is to stay at a
Campsite at Fort Wilderness - “camping at Disney World?!” you say? I'm more of a glamping style gal myself, so never fear. There are many reputable local companies which offer full-service delivery, set-up, and take-down of a rental RV for your stay. You’ll have all the comforts of home in a secluded, adventurous part of the Walt Disney World Resort with all the amenities and recreation you’re used to when staying on property. If you’re able to stay here, be sure to reserve a meal at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue – it's delicious, with incredible entertainment that will have your whole family laughing ‘til they cry.
I’ve also enjoyed stays at nearby
Disney Springs area hotels. As Walt Disney World Official Hotels, you'll still enjoy many on-property benefits. If your family is part of a travel loyalty program, this is a great way to use or earn rewards and be close to the magic. They often have their own transportation to the theme parks, or I have easily rented a car for maximum convenience. Some of these hotels even have small water parks, so be sure to give them a look as you research this fun decision.
I hope this gives your family some new inspiration for a fun way to spend your visit next summer! With extra savings on a resort, perhaps you can fit in a day at one of Disney’s great water parks – my family loved our time at
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon one warm summer day for a new twist on some Disney fun together.
Please let us know how else we can help you make the most of this trip!
One little spark,
Amy
