Welcome to planDisney, Dianna!
It sounds like you are already soaking up the magic at Walt Disney World Resort and need a little insight about your resort room. While you find some informative videos from my planDisney classmates on stroller rentals, packing your perfect park bag, and more right on your room’s television, I’m happy to detail additional policies and procedures.
Housekeeping service will depend on which resort you're staying at and how you booked your reservation. If you are a
Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Member staying at a DVC Resort using Member points (or a Member cash discount), trash and towel service will be provided on the 4th day of your visit. If your reservation is 8 nights or longer, you'll receive housekeeping on the 4th day and trash and towel service on the 8th day. As a DVC member staying on points, I have noticed our trash is often emptied more frequently even if towels are left according to the schedule.
For non-DVC Members with room reservations at a
Disney Deluxe Resort, housekeeping service is offered daily. Guests of Moderate and Value Resorts, as well as guests of The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, will receive service every other day.
Did you know that you can order additional room supplies like coffee, towels, bedding, and more right from the
"Hey Disney!" device in your room? My family loves using this to have essentials replenished while we enjoy the parks (just be sure the "Room Occupied" tag isn't displayed on your door). We also use "Hey Disney!" features like soundscapes, trivia, and stories while we get ready each morning and wind down before bedtime at the end of a long park day.
Your room thermostat should have simple-to-use up and down buttons to adjust the temperature (I believe the default is 68°F), but if you need additional assistance, you can stop by the
Front Desk. They should be able to answer any questions or alert a maintenance Cast Member in the event of any issues.
Dianna, I hope this helped. Please come back and see us again with any other questions or concerns.
Magic and memories,
Amy
