Welcome to planDisney, Barbara! And just like Uncle Scrooge McDuck, it sounds like you and I love a bargain. Especially a Disney bargain. Over the years, my family has enjoyed all levels of Disney Resort Hotels, so I have some thoughts to share. You can take that to the
bank!
My first tip is to stay at an on-site resort for the
benefits they offer. Guests can enjoy Early Theme Park entry, complimentary parking, access to Disney transportation, and more. But the best part is that you never have to leave the magical Disney bubble!
Now that I've convinced you to stay on Disney property, let's look at some budget-friendly options. First, check the
Special Offers page to see if there are any deals for your vacation dates. Since your trip is a few months away, my tip is to bookmark the page to keep an eye on the latest offers. I don't have a crystal ball like Madame Leota, but I'd suggest looking for bargains starting around September.
Even if you don't find an offer you're eligible for, I still have some suggestions that will be easy on your wallet. Typically, Disney's All-Star Resorts are an economical option. These family-friendly hotels feature larger-than-life theming and plenty of free activities. My son always begged to stay at
All-Star Sports when he was younger, so it has a special place in my family's memories.
If you don't mind spending a little more,
Disney's Pop Century Resort is also considered a value resort. It offers the added benefit of the
Disney Skyliner for transportation to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. This is one of my husband's favorite places to stay because he's a bit of a skyliner snob; he says it's the best way to travel!
My final tip is to check out a family suite at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort if you have a larger group. These rooms cost a little more, but they accommodate up to six guests and have two full bathrooms. I stayed here with a group of friends, and by the time we split the cost, it was very reasonable. Plus, we were able to hang out together in the living room area and make even more magical memories.
Call the
Tickets and Hotel Reservations line for their suggestions, too. They can advise you about booking your room now and then applying any special offers that drop in the future. My dad used to call that "hedging your bets," and I think Uncle Scrooge would approve!
