Hi there! Me and my family of 3 are going to Disneyland on Monday. It’s my daughter Penelope’s (6 yo) first time! And I wanted to plan it out perfectly! She really really wants to meet Elsa. Is there certain times she comes out during the day?

Welcome to planDisney, Shelli! It is so exciting that your daughter is heading to Disneyland for the first time. And I know how meeting a favorite Disney friend can transform a visit into a once-in-a-lifetime memory. My daughters’ first Disney movie was “Frozen” and I remember how excited they were to meet Elsa (and Anna!) for the first time. I’d be delighted to help you toward finding Elsa during your visit.

The best place to find Elsa is inside the Disney Animation Building at Disney California Adventure. Unfortunately, these meet and greets aren’t scheduled far in advance, so you won’t find them published weeks ahead in the Daily Events Schedule, for example. However, her meet-and-greet times do appear each morning in the Disneyland App. My suggestion would be to check the app on the morning of your visit to see when she is meeting guests. That will give you an estimate for when Elsa will be available for you and your daughter to meet her

Another location where you may find Elsa is Fantasy Faire Courtyard, next to Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland. According to the app for today’s times, these may be more limited. If this location is your preference, I would suggest heading here first!

And one more quick tip! The Disneyland app’s character locator will not only allow you to find Elsa; it is your guide to every character appearing at both parks during the day. So if your daughter has other favorites she would like to see, be sure to have the app downloaded on your mobile device. I am sure you will find it handy, not only for finding characters, but also showtimes and even to mobile order your snacks!

Shelli, I hope this helps you and your daughter create a truly unforgettable memory with the Snow Queen herself. If you’d like even more planning tips, whether for character experiences, parade strategies, or where to find the best treats, we’d be happy to welcome you back to planDisney anytime.

    Have a truly magical visit,
    David
