Hi Amber, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! I’m excited to hear that you’ll be walking down Main Street, U.S.A. and enjoying all the Mickey-shaped snacks in less than one week.
Let’s make sure your teens are all set to use
Lightning Lane Multi Pass! If they have their own
MyDisney account, they can book and modify Lightning Lane selections through the
My Disney Experience app. As long as they’re 13 years of age or older, they can create a MyDisney account.
If you currently manage their profiles, you can invite them to take control of their profile on the Disney World website. When you view your
Family & Friends List, you’ll see Guests You Manage at the top of the page. Find the person who’s ready to take control of their profile and click Manage (this option won’t show up for guests under the age of 13). Here you’ll see the option to invite them to sign in and plan on their own. When you press Invite, input their email address to send the invitation.
You’ll have a lot of flexibility once they control their own accounts! Your teens will be able to book and modify Lightning Lane selections, including the ones you’ve made for them. And, as long as you’re linked on each other’s Family & Friends List, you can still purchase and book on their behalf.
For the best selection of Lightning Lane attractions and return times, be sure to book as soon as you’re eligible.
Disney Resort Hotel guests can purchase Lightning Lane Passes
up to seven days before check-in, for your length of stay (up to 14 days). All other guests can buy three days ahead of their first theme park day. If you have a date-based ticket, you can purchase Lightning Lane Passes for all days on your ticket when the booking window opens. Other admission types, like Annual Passholders, can buy one day at a time, three days before each theme park day. When you’re eligible to purchase Lightning Lane Passes, booking starts at 7:00 AM Eastern Time, so don’t be late for this very important date!
If an attraction or return time you want is unavailable, Hakuna Matata! You can keep checking back to see if it pops up again. I’ve had good luck refreshing the Tip Board in the My Disney Experience app throughout my park day.
Also, once your teens have their own My Disney account, they can use the
Play Disney Parks app to take on missions in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, play games while waiting in attraction queues, and test their knowledge with Disney trivia!
I hope you have a magical vacation to Disney World next week! Also, the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival will be underway while you’re there. So don’t miss grabbing a snack from the
Outdoor Kitchens and looking for all the different
Disney character topiaries. It’s such a beautiful time to visit!
