We have 2 day park hopper tickets so my question is about the lightening lanes - if we buy a multi pass and say we start out in epcot then we decide to go to Animal Kingdom do we need to buy multi passes for there also?

    Welcome back to planDisney, Erin!

We're so glad you decided to visit again. I'm excited to hear about your upcoming trip and happy to talk through the ins and outs of Lightning Lane Multi-Pass.

Guests with eligible resort reservations can purchase and schedule their selections 7 days ahead of their check-in date, while off-site guests can get started 3 days before their ticket start date. I'm not sure where you're staying for this particular visit, but based on your arrival date of April 14th, your booking window will open very soon.

Once you're ready to purchase, you'll select your date of visit and preferred park using the My Disney Experience app. If you plan to start your day at EPCOT, you'll select 3 initial attractions- 1 from group one, which currently includes Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Test Track, and 2 from group two, which includes these experiences:

    • Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival
    • Journey into Imagination with Figment
    • Living with the Land
    • Mission: SPACE
    • The Seas with Nemo & Friends
    • Soarin’ Around the World
    • Spaceship Earth
    • Turtle Talk with Crush
You do have the option to select all 3 initial selections from group two if you prefer, but I recommend securing a group one experience, as those typically have the longest standby queues.  My family always grabs a Lightning Lane Single Pass for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind as well, which can be purchased in addition to or instead of Multi Pass.

Once you redeem one of your initial 3 selections, you can book additional attractions, one at a time (subject to availability), through the end of the day.  I like booking Multi Pass arrival windows early in the day so I can begin setting up my afternoon and evening plans as quickly as possible. If you're planning to hop over to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, you will not need to purchase a second Multi Pass there on the same day. As long as you have Park Hopper Option tickets, you can make selections at any park after redeeming one of your initial selections.

Note that Animal Kingdom typically closes earlier than EPCOT, so just plan your arrival windows accordingly and allow plenty of time for transportation between the parks. Park-to-park buses usually begin running around 10 am each day and depart every 20 minutes or so. If you decide to return to EPCOT after your time at Animal Kingdom, you are welcome to do so. I like ending my night with a showing of Luminous The Symphony of Us or hopping back in the standby queue for Cosmic Rewind to save the galaxy one last time before bed.

I hope this helps, Erin. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to come back and let us know. We're always glad to help!

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
