Hi there Russel, I'm glad to wish you a warm Canadian welcome to planDisney!
Now I'm very glad I got to your question, especially since you'll be arriving today just in time for the
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort! I chatted with one of the Disneyland Resort Guest Relations Cast Members who advises that since you'll already be arriving today, your best bet would be to
inquire in person about the current exchange rates at City Hall in Disneyland Park, the Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park and at the
Front Desks of any of the Disneyland Resort Hotels. Our pal and fellow Disney expert
Elaine is also around conducting all of the important snack and attraction research for planDisney, and the Guest Services Cast Member she encountered also explained that since these rates are subject to fluctuation, you'll be told the exchange rate whenever you make a purchase or payment if paying in Canadian dollars. I always recommend looking up the exchange rates leading up to any trip to a Disney Destination, which are easily available to look up as they tend to give a good idea of what you can expect when you arrive.
Many fellow Canucks in the know have learned some great strategies to be on top of their spending like using
Disney Gift Cards as a way to avoid foreign transaction fees, especially when they first use it on a day when there is a better exchange rate. (This could come in handy, especially if you're looking forward to enjoying the
Festive Foods with all of the snacks and sips to purchase during the
Disney Festival of the Holidays!)
For any other questions like this that are Guest Services-oriented, I've found that you'll often have greater success at receiving the response you're looking for by
contacting the Disneyland Resort directly, but come back to planDisney when you're looking
for any advice, tips or tricks about any Disney Experiences you'll encounter during your visit.
Wishing you the most Merry time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
Prince
