Hi there Alyssa, and welcome to planDisney!
Now when it comes to weddings at the Most Magical Place on Earth, I have spent the better chunk of the past few years planning and researching
my own Disney Fairy Tale Wedding - with all of the ins and outs of the various rules and restrictions in place for anyone looking to celebrate at the theme parks and resorts! As a recent Disney Groom, I'm happy to share a bit of Disney Wedding wisdom when it comes to venturing out in your finest formals:
- Now you’ll be happy to hear that I spot wedding couples almost every week as I roam around the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels going about my planDisney research, and they have been welcomed to dine in their wedding attire - gowns included - at Table Service locations including Victoria & Albert's and Topolino's Terrace. It's a great idea to confirm the Dress Code at each dining location (often found on their individual web page) but be aware that since policies are always subject to change without prior notice and may be at the discretion of the management of each location, it's always a good idea to ask them in advance, especially when it comes to accommodating some of the larger gowns I've seen drifting around on property!
- Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings team does a remarkable job of meticulously coordinating the movements of each couple and celebration so that they don't clash with each other; on our wedding day this year there were several couples simultaneously within the same area but we barely glimpsed each other! However since weddings are planned through a different team at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin hotels, a friendly Cast Member at Disney's BoardWalk advised that it's best to be prepared in the event that you may be asked to move if any location is being used by Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings and its couples celebrating or taking photos at that particular spot.
Over the past year I've spotted gowns making their away across Walt Disney World Resort on the monorail, drifting across on boats and even on the
Disney Skyliner; even Disney Grooms and Brides alike who get married at
Disney Springs can be seen stepping out in style to wine and dine or
board an Amphicar. I also highly recommend keeping an eye on the
Ever After Blog and the Disney Wedding Podcast to check out stories from other couples and even inspiration from those who have gotten married at your venues! Come back again to
ask me for any other Disney Wedding planning advice, tips or tricks - and if you're ever unsure of whether any location is acceptable for you to go in your gown, asking the Cast Members working in that location nicely will always go a long way.
Wishing you all the best in your dress as you celebrate your Happily Ever After!
