Batten down the hatches, Kirsty, and welcome to the safe harbor of planDisney. You'll be traveling across the pond to
Walt Disney World Resort as fast as a northerly wind, so let's talk about having a water park day during your visit.
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is a whirlwind of fun, and Mount Mayday is watching over it all. You'll see whimsical evidence of a tropical storm that's ravaged the area, but it's all in good fun. I've only been to the other park, Blizzard Beach, but I'd love to experience Miss Adventure Falls. Several guests can ride the small raft together on that attraction; there's safety in numbers!
With all that splashing around, you'll need a towel to dry off, so I chatted with a slicker-wearing Cast Member who said towels are
available for rental for about $2 each, but pricing is subject to change. In the past, guests staying at Disney Resort Hotels could use towels for free, but he said that benefit is no longer offered. Since policies can change, if you're a resort guest, I recommend asking if they offer any discounts on towel rentals. My husband always says it doesn't hurt to ask!
My pal
Amy visited this water park recently and rented a
Beachcomber Shack. She said towels were provided at no additional cost with that service. You can book a shack online or ask about availability when you arrive. Talk about weathering the storm in style!
You can also bring your own beach towels or purchase them at the
Singapore Sal's. My family collects beach towels to commemorate places we've visited, so they're useful souvenirs.
Kirsty, I hope your visit is storm-free with sunny skies! Please
stop by planDisney anytime. You can borrow my umbrella!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
