Hi there, Robin. Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
BoardWalk Villas is one of my
Disney Vacation Club home resorts, so I'm always excited to chat about it.
I'll say that the sleeper sofas at Disney are more comfortable than the average pull-out couch (maybe that's because there's no tired like Disney tired!), but I also prefer the newer Murphy beds.
I spoke to a Cast Member who said that most rooms at BoardWalk Villas have been refurbished, but there are still a few they're working on. Since you're visiting in the summer, there's a better chance you'll get a Deluxe Studio with a Murphy bed, but it's not guaranteed. If it's a deal breaker, you may want to choose a different resort hotel. Both
Beach Club Villas and
Riviera Resort are nearby and have studios with Murphy beds.
I stayed in one of the refurbished BoardWalk Villa rooms last month and it was worth the wait! They're beautifully decorated, and if you're a fan of Goofy and Max, you'll love the artwork on the Murphy bed!
While you're at the
BoardWalk, be sure to check out the new food offerings. You'll find the
Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs kiosk right by the water and, if you're looking for something a bit fancier, there's also
The Cake Bake Shop a little further down on the boardwalk. They also have a separate bakery if you're looking for treats without a whole table service meal.
Wishing you a magical trip and a good night's sleep!
JoAnna
