Ma chère Jennifer,
It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you back to
planDisney. I'm delighted you have returned to once again put our service to the test. So, tie a napkin 'round your neck, chérie, and we'll...get right to your question about
Be Our Guest Restaurant.
I'm not sure I'll ever get over the way Walt Disney World Resort is able to make childhood dreams come true. The first time I dined at Be Our Guest and stepped foot into the Grand Ballroom I had seen countless times through my VHS player was truly like living inside of my favorite fairytale. I never thought that particular magical moment could be topped until my family was able to secure a last-minute dinner reservation to celebrate my new job and we were seated directly in front of the enchanted rose in the West Wing.
While the enchanting dining rooms and
prix-fixe, 3-course menu set this restaurant apart from other table-service locations, Be Our Guest is not listed as a
character dining experience. With this in mind, Beast will periodically stroll through his castle (so be sure to snap a photo), but he does not stop by individual tables or offer a meet and greet for Guests. While a meet and greet was offered as part of the dinner experience when the restaurant debuted, this was unfortunately discontinued a few years ago. Because I'm so fond of this particular photo-op, I reached out to a Cast Member about its status. She helpfully shared that although it was temporarily reinstated for a few months in 2024, at this time Beast plans to continue greeting his Guests from afar.
I'm sure this is not what you were hoping to hear, Jennifer, but I hope it was helpful for you. If you do choose to dine at Be Our Guest, be sure to try the French Onion Soup au Gratin — it's delicious! Don't believe me? Ask the dishes!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
