I am coming in September/October staying off site. One of my favourite things to do is go to Disney Springs then get a bus/boat to Port Orleans French Quarter for Mickey Beignets. Will I still be able to do that with the recent changes?

Hello Kate and welcome to planDisney!

You are talking my language when you mention your love for Mickey shaped beignets at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter!  I’m like you when it comes to finding a way to get to Scat Cat’s Club Cafe any way I can to grab hold of one or two or ten of those delicious beignets!

Kate, the current information that we have here at planDisney regarding the bus transportation and the Sassagoula River Cruise from Disney Springs is that each Guest will be asked to show a valid Disney Resort hotel room key, a dining reservation or an experience reservation for the Resort that they are visiting.  If any additional information comes out or that current information changes or is updated, we will certainly let you know here at planDisney.  So, if you are staying off-site, at this time, it looks like you would need to make other transportation arrangements to get to the French Quarter to dig into those amazing beignets.

Kate, a couple of options, there is a fantastic dining option called Boatwright’s Dining Hall at the French Quarter’s sister resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-Riverside. If you had a free evening and wanted to get a dining reservation at Boatwright’s, you could have a great dinner and then make the scenic walk over to the French Quarter for a beignet desert at Scat Cat’s Club Cafe. Under the new information we have, you will be able to utilize the Sassagoula River Cruise from Disney Springs with your dining reservation at Riverside.

The other options would be a personal vehicle if you are renting a car during your stay, or a ride share service. That would be an additional cost, but it would take you from your off-site lodging directly to those Mickey shaped beignets.

Kate, you are sure to have an amazing adventure, and I hope it includes some beignets!  I also hope you enjoy a Mickey Bar or two!
