Hey there and welcome to planDisney!
It sounds like you're one of the very best dedicated Disney Aunts or Uncles out there (I'm a "Duncle" myself to three little adventurers myself) looking out for your nephew - and I must applaud you for already introducing him to one of the more classic Disney films out there! Can you believe that it's been over 50 years since
Robin Hood has been released?
Over my time as a Cast Member living and working alongside our Character pals, Robin Hood has always been one of the most elusive to find at Walt Disney World Resort and considered to be extremely rare among the
Characters that you can normally find at the theme parks. I checked in with our friends in
Entertainment and currently beyond spontaneous surprise sightings, rare folks like Robin Hood may typically only show up unannounced for special moments like runDisney events or
Disney Vacation Club Moonlight Magic evenings.
Though he may have shown up during the finale of
Fantasmic! in the past - which sometimes came with greetings to surprise and delight guests at
Disney's Hollywood Studios that day - this certainly has not been the case recently, at least over the past 10 times that I've watched the show. (If you're at
EPCOT, there are sometimes moments when rarer friends may suddenly show up during what some might know as "Character Palooza" over by
Regal Eagle Smokehouse, but these are unscheduled and not guaranteed; you'll never know who might show up and the Character Attendants may not be able to let guests know much beyond just being lucky at the right time!) During my visits to the international Disney Destinations such as Tokyo Disney Resort this year it was more likely to spot Robin Hood meeting guests than it is over here in North America, and at Disneyland Paris he has shown up as a pop-up surprise for those with a
Disneyland Pass!
Based on my experience with the three year-olds there's a chance your nephew may no longer be interested in Robin Hood by the time you get to Walt Disney World Resort, but it might be a good idea not to promise that you'll be seeing him anywhere in particular just to avoid any disappointment during this trip! (At the very least, why not be the hero he looks up to by dressing up as Robin Hood if you have tickets to attend
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party together?)
Wishing you all the luck in one day finding the elusive Robin Hood at a Disney Destination!
