Hi Courtney!
Welcome to planDisney! I see you are planning to visit Walt Disney World Resort with little ones - how wonderful! I've been traveling with my boys since they were infants and can honestly say there is no shortage of fun in every park for even the littlest Mouseketeers. With the incredible variety of attractions and entertainment, get ready to make many magical memories during your vacation! I always like to spend time in each park but, if your time is limited, I'm happy to share my thoughts on how to prioritize your time in the parks.
Courtney, in my opinion,
Magic Kingdom Park is the hands-down winner when visiting with toddlers and preschoolers. This particular theme park has
dozens of attractions without a height restriction so your kids can soar with Dumbo The Flying Elephant, swim with Ariel on Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid, and journey into the Hundred Acre Wood on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - just to name a few! They also have opportunities to meet many of their favorite characters and enjoy fantastic entertainment with the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, Mickey's Magical Friendship Faire, and Happily Ever After Fireworks. Plus, I don't think any visit is complete without the iconic photo in front of Cinderella Castle with my family. With so much to experience in this park, I also suggest purchasing
Lightning Lane Multi Pass to spend less time waiting in line and more time enjoying the fun! You'll be happy to know that you do not need to purchase Lightning Lane passes or admission tickets for children under 3 so your youngest one can enter as a special Guest of Mickey!
I want to also highlight some great activities for little ones in the other theme parks as well. If your children have a specific interest or favorite character that appears outside of Magic Kingdom Park, that may impact your decision on which park to visit.
- Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park - Take a walk on the wild side! My kids always enjoy a morning ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris as we've found the animals to be a bit more active earlier in the day. You'll also find some great shows here including Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond.
- Disney's Hollywood Studios - If you have any Disney Junior fans, this is the only park where you'll find dedicated spaces for these characters. Hollywood & Vine hosts the Disney Junior Play 'n' Dine character breakfast and you'll also find Disney Junior Play and Dance! in Animation Courtyard.
- EPCOT - The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavillion is home to an underwater oasis where both kids and adults can observe fish and other sea creatures. They can even talk with a sea turtle at Turtle Talk with Crush! Have any princess fans in your house? When traveling around World Showcase keep an eye open for Disney princesses meeting in their native countries.
Courtney, I know that is A LOT of information, but I hope it helps you narrow down which park you want to visit. I'd also encourage you to check out our
video library which has several resources for planning a trip with little ones. If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again!
Cheers,
Kristi
