Hiya Jackee,
Welcome to planDisney! No one does the holidays quite like Walt Disney World Resort. I love the beauty of the
Candlelight Processional at EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays, the yuletide fun of
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and, of course, the incredible decorations. I am constantly amazed at all of the intricate details, the gingerbread houses, and even the smells.
For some people, the transition from Halloween to Christmas happens when the clock strikes 12 on All Hallow’s Eve (and some even sooner). The transition is just as seamless at Walt Disney World Resort! As a matter of fact, one of my favorite holiday decorations, the Gingerbread House at
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, has begun construction this year. As soon as the final night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party wraps up (this year, the final night is November 1st) the pumpkins will begin their transformation into yuletide magic. When I spoke to a Cast Member, they could not confirm how long the entire transformation would take, but in my experience, the decorations are usually complete in early November.
I hope this is helpful, Jackee! Please come back and see us if there is anything else we can help with.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
