We are a large family planning a trip for Christmas 2023. (6 in one family and 3 in the other). Would the Art of Amination Resort be able to accommodate the families?

    Hiya Tracey! Welcome to planDisney!

Oh boy! I can't think of a better idea than spending the holiday season with your loved ones at the Walt Disney World Resort! Between exploring the parks and resorts while also taking part in festive activities, your family is set to have a magical time!

Disney's Art of Animation Resort is perfect for larger groups. There are a few themed areas of the resort that include Family Suites and Standard Rooms. Many of the Family Suites sleep up to six Guests, which will be more than accommodating for each of the families. If you want to be located near one another, I suggest deciding on the same themed area for each of the rooms. You can choose between Finding Nemo, Cars, and The Lion King. The attention to detail not only inside the rooms but also in the area outside of the buildings is spectacular. You little ones are going to absolutely love staying here. Once your reservation is confirmed, you can call the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line to request your rooms to be located close to each other. While these requests are not guaranteed, Cast Members will take them into account when assigning your rooms.

There is a Standard Room option available that sleeps up to four Guests and is modeled after The Little Mermaid. While the family of three will find these rooms accommodating, they will not be located anywhere near the Family Suites. If you prefer the two rooms to be relatively close to one another, this may not be the best option for this trip.

There are Deluxe Villas available at several Disney Resorts hotels. Many of these offer two and three-bedroom accommodations. Most of the two-bedroom villas sleep up to 9 Guests, while the three-bedroom models can accommodate up to 12 Guests. These resorts are perfect for families that all want to stay in the same room while still having plenty of space. I was part of a multi-generational trip recently and we opted for a three-bedroom villa at Disney's Old Key West Resort. We loved returning from the parks at night and having a common area to spend time together without having to go to our separate rooms.

Tracey, I hope this information helps you plan for your upcoming holiday visit! Stop back and see us anytime at planDisney!

    See ya real soon!
