Welcome back to planDisney. How exciting that you will be celebrating your 75th birthday at The Most Magical Place on Earth. There are 13 character dining experiences available at the Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts. Let’s see what we can do to help you get one of your dreams.
The first thing I would do is look at all your
Character Dining options and prioritize your top choices. The key to booking the character dining experience you want is to take advantage of the benefits of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort. You can begin booking your advance dining reservations 60 days prior to your arrival for the duration of your visit. Reservations can be made through the Walt Disney World website or through the
My Disney Experience app. I love to use the app because it is so simple. From the home screen, tap the plus button, then tap the first option, Check Dining Availability. Enter your party size, date range (this allows you to check availability for your whole stay), preferred time, and location, and all available restaurants and times will pop up. Scroll down, select your dining location, then choose a time and confirm your reservation. If, for some reason, you are unable to make a reservation, keep checking regularly. Guests change or cancel their reservations all of the time, and I’ve been able to get a reservation that was unavailable just by checking back in daily at various times. You can also join the walk-up waitlist via the app for some locations.
Before we part ways, I would love to share a few ways to make your birthday even more magical while visiting the parks. The first thing to do is to visit your resort’s guest services or one at the park and get a complimentary Happy Birthday button. Cast members and characters love to wish guests Happy Birthday. Another thing I love to recommend is the
Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party. Here you will get to indulge in delectable desserts, then behold the Happily Ever After fireworks extravaganza from a prime viewing area.
