Welcome to planDisney, Valorie! What a magical gift you're considering for your daughter and family this Christmas. I'd love to help!
There are a couple of ways you might consider how to purchase tickets as a gift. Generally,
Disneyland Resort theme park tickets may be purchased online or through the
official Disneyland mobile app. If you know the dates that your daughter's family would like to visit, the age of each Guest, and a few other details (like which theme park to start in, and any add-ons like Lightning Lane passes) then you can simply follow the prompts on the Tickets page to
secure the tickets and make park reservations on behalf of your daughter and family! Tickets purchased today would have an expiration date of December 30, 2026, for standard 1-Day tickets, and standard multi-day tickets expire 13 days after their first use or by January 12, 2027 (whichever comes first). Unfortunately, there is no way to purchase tickets with an open-ended expiration date, to my knowledge.
However, I have another idea that might help you gift this wonderful bit of holiday magic to your loved ones even if you aren't quite sure when they'd like to visit.
Disney Gift Cards are valid for use on most purchases at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Cruise Line, and more! You can see the
entire collection of destinations where you can use (and purchase) Disney Gift Cards online. And, you can opt to have your
Disney Gift Card delivered by mail to any U.S. shipping address or nearly instantly, via email! Most major retailers also carry Disney Gift Cards, if you'd like to shop in-person, too. Disney Gift Cards do not expire, and each card can carry up to a maximum of $1,000 balance. It's also easy to check the card's balance, transaction history, or even transfer balances between cards by
managing any Disney Gift Card online, so your daughter would have a lot of flexibility on how she'd like to administer the gift card. One thing to keep in mind is that typically, the ticketing system will only permit one gift card to be added as a payment method at one time, so when it comes time for your daughter to use the gift card to purchase tickets online, she may need to keep this in mind if there is a balance on the transaction in excess of $1000.
I have successfully used them to gift Disneyland Resort theme park tickets for friends and family members in the past, so I know this would work well if you choose to go this route!I hope these are some helpful solutions, Valorie. I know your family is going to feel so special that you've thought of them in this way, and it's so wonderful to see some holiday magic shared among your loved ones! If we can help with any other recommendations along the way, please come back to
planDisney and allow us to share! Wishing you extra merry and bright moments this holiday season.
Magically yours,
Tishra
