Hey there, Jeffrey. Welcome to planDisney! We’re so glad you stopped by to bring us your question.
Now, Jeffrey, gather ‘round the (regulated) campfire because I’ve got the scoop on burning firewood at
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground! While roasting marshmallows and soaking in the rustic magic is a must-do, there are a few important rules to keep in mind.
Open wood-burning fires are not permitted at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, but don’t worry. You can still enjoy that cozy campfire glow! Guests are welcome to use an approved, fully enclosed fire pit with a spark arrestor, like a portable propane fire pit or a Disney-approved wood-burning pit. If you’re in the mood for a classic campfire experience, you won’t want to miss
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long, where you can toast marshmallows, make s’mores, and enjoy a hootin’ and hollerin’ good time with everyone’s favorite chipmunks!
Before you pack up the firewood, keep in mind that bringing in outside firewood is not recommended due to environmental regulations that help protect Florida’s natural ecosystems. Instead, you can purchase firewood from the
Trading Posts inside Fort Wilderness.
So, grab those graham crackers and chocolate bars, and get ready for a rootin’-tootin’ good time under the stars! Hope this helps, and have a magical time at the Fort!
See ya real soon,
~Emille
