Can you use a solstice fire pit at camp wilderness

    Hello Renee!

Welcome to planDisney!  I recently stayed at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and had such a fun and unique time. I never expected to find such peace and relaxation while at a Walt Disney World Resort. While I stayed in the Cabins, the Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort also have access to beautiful natural escapes with fishing excursions, wagon rides, and pony rides

One of my favorite things about camping is sitting quietly by the campfire at night. It is just a great mental reset. You are allowed to have a campfire at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort but there are some rules.  The Resort has a policy regarding open fires and fire pits that states that open-air fires are not allowed. Fires are only allowed in grills and approved portable fire pits. Examples of approved fire pits are those with a solid metal top or lid that prevents an exposed flame and flying sparks and embers. They should look like mini ovens essentially. Any fire pit with a mesh or open top will not be allowed. I searched online for what a "solstice fire pit" is and found that it seems to have an open flame. If that is the kind you wish to bring then it will not be allowed.

Realize that just like any campsite if there is a risk of forest fires, Walt Disney World Resort could issue a temporary burn ban. I do hope that doesn't happen but make sure to read all of the notices when you arrive. I also highly recommend bringing your firewood as it seems to be hit or miss with their availability.

I hope this was helpful and you have an amazing time!

    Happy Planning!

My husband and I work very hard to journey to our favorite place on Earth, Walt Disney World Resort, as much as we can. We have traveled as just adults, with babies, kids, teenagers, and senior citizens. We have seen so many characters, eaten at amazing places, and consumed a ton of Dole Whips. So "give a little whistle" and let me be your guide! Learn More About Nimmy
