    Hiya, Donna!

It’s so wonderful to welcome you back to planDisney! It may have been a little while since your last visit, but we’re always happy to see a returning Guest and appreciate you bringing another question our way. How exciting that you’ll be visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth during the merriest time of year, the holiday season! And getting to experience Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party with your grandchild makes the trip even more special. I can already imagine the smiles and memories you’ll make together!

Walt Disney World has a number of services designed to help Guests with different accessibility needs enjoy their time in the parks. Based on what you’ve shared about your grandchild, you may want to explore Disability Access Service (DAS), which is intended to assist Guests who, because of a developmental disability such as autism or a similar condition, may have difficulty waiting in a traditional queue for an extended period.

You can speak with a Cast Member through a live video chat to discuss DAS eligibility as early as 60 days before your first planned park visit. Your grandchild will need to be present during the registration process, so you’ll want to plan accordingly. The Cast Member can learn more about your grandchild’s needs, explain how DAS works, and help you understand whether it may be an appropriate option for your family. I think having that conversation ahead of your visit could help you feel more prepared and confident as you continue to plan.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is such a fun way to celebrate the holiday season, and I just know you’re going to have an amazing time! Seeing the “snow” fall on Main Street, U.S.A. is always such a fun touch, and the exclusive entertainment, like Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, is the perfect recipe for a wonderful night together. I hope it’s filled with lots of smiles, holiday cheer, and memories you’ll treasure!

Donna, I hope this has been helpful as you continue planning your holly jolly trip! Thank you so much for visiting us at planDisney.

    Merry Wishes,

    Kami
