Hi Chika, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. There’s nothing like linking your theme park tickets in the app and letting the adventure officially begin!
I’m happy to share that guests with date-based theme park tickets no longer need to make
theme park reservations. While
some tickets require a reservation, like Annual Passes, student group tickets, and Military Salute tickets, it sounds like you might have a date-based ticket. If that’s the case, you’re good to go! If you’re not sure, you can always
call Disney World to double-check.
While you may not need a theme park reservation, it’s important to note that the parks can reach capacity and temporarily close to incoming guests. However, that typically only happens on extremely busy days like New Year’s Eve and isn’t common most times of the year. But if you’re visiting on a particularly crowded day, be sure to get to the park early and you should be safe.
Now that you have your theme park ticket linked to the
My Disney Experience app, you’re all set to purchase
Lightning Lane Passes if that’s something you were planning to do. If you’re staying at a
Disney Resort Hotel, you can buy Lightning Lane Passes starting seven days before check-in for your whole stay (up to 14 days). All other guests can purchase three days ahead of their theme park day. What’s really cool about having a date-based ticket is that you can buy Lightning Lane Passes for all days on your ticket once your window opens. Any leg up you can get on making your Lightning Lane selections is a nice perk since it gives you a better chance at snagging popular attractions like
Slinky Dog Dash and
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. When you’re eligible to buy Lightning Lane Passes, booking starts at 7:00 AM Eastern Time, so don’t be late for this very important date!
I hope you have a magical visit to Disney World! And if you have any other questions, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
