I bought my magic key in March. I have yet to use a reservation and will be going on September 5. Do I have 1 year from Septemeber 5 to go as many times as I can or do I have to renew it in March?

Greetings and welcome to planDisney, Alec!

Congratulations on getting your hands on a Magic Key Pass! Even though you haven't had an opportunity to use it yet this year, I bet you'll love having it once you use it for those merchandise and dining discounts

You'll be happy to know that, in your case, you should have one full year to enjoy your Magic Key Pass after you use it for the first time on your upcoming visit. According to the Magic Key Terms and Conditions, a new Magic Key Pass will expire one year from the date of purchase if not activated (i.e., used for entry into a Disneyland Resort Theme Park or for a fully paid parking benefit). Once activated, the Pass will then be good for one year from the date of activation. Your renewal window will begin 30 days before its expiration.

Oh boy, you have a whole year's worth of magic memories to unlock with your new Key! I'd recommend following the Magic Key Instagram account because I find out about a lot of special items just for Keyholders through them. And make sure to visit the Magic Key Terrace for a meal when you can. It's a special place that feels like it's all our own, above the hustle and bustle of Disney California Adventure. It even pays homage to some of the Park's resident cats!

Alec, I hope this helped put your mind at ease and that you are able to get the most out of your Magic Key! If you need anything else, please write back to us anytime. You're always welcome at planDisney!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
