Hey there, Ashley! Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for visiting us.
I'm so sorry to hear your mom isn't able to join you for your next visit to Disneyland Resort. I get how important flexibility is when your plans change. While Disneyland Resort theme park tickets are
non-refundable, you do have a couple of options available to you. First of all, your mom could certainly opt to use the ticket at some point in the future with a modified park reservation, during the ticket's valid use window. You can check the expiration date listed on the ticket to see how long you would have to use it and make your park reservation for another time that works best for her!
Although tickets cannot be transferred for commercial purposes, Ashley, it is also possible for another Guest to utilize the ticket you previously purchased for your mom. The name originally placed on standard tickets simply serves to help you organize them, so if you decide that you'd like someone else in your family to use it (or you'd like to use it yourself), just make sure the Guest using the ticket successfully
links it to their MyDisney account so that they can properly
make park reservations and utilize it for theme park admission. Then, when the ticket is first scanned at the theme park entrance, a Cast Member will take a photo of the Guest using it, which formally designates the ticket to them. The only caveat here is that some special offer tickets like the
Anaheim Resident ticket would require proof of residency, so keep that in mind if you happen to have purchased one of these special offer tickets.
I hope this has been helpful for now, Ashley. If you need additional technical assistance with linking tickets or your MyDisney account, please don't hesitate to reach out to a Cast Member using the
Tickets line for support by phone. In the meantime, we'd love for you to come back to
planDisney with any other vacation planning questions that come up. You've got a friend in us!
Magically yours,
Tishra
