Greetings, Amy, and welcome to planDisney! It looks like you might be in the United States for your
Walt Disney World Resort holiday, so I hope your time here is off to a magical start. Dining at California Grill is a fabulous choice, so let's look at how fireworks viewing will work.
I chatted with a sparkling Cast Member who said guests with dining reservations at
California Grill are welcome to head to the check-in podium on the second floor of
Disney's Contemporary Resort and ask if space is available on the restaurant's observation deck. If there is, guests will be escorted up to view the fireworks. I'm crossing my fingers and firecrackers that you can watch the show before your dinner!
Remember that
Happily Ever After will only operate in October on nights when Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is not offered. I love this nighttime spectacular which typically starts at 8:30 p.m. this time of year. I know it's time to get my tissues when I hear those opening lyrics: "Ready to begin?"
On party nights,
Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular will run instead at 10 p.m. You can check which fireworks will be shown on the
Hours & Events Calendar by clicking "Fireworks & Nighttime Entertainment." I like looking at the 5-day view to help me plan my week.
If you can't go to the observation deck at the restaurant, my pal
Amy A. suggests watching the fireworks on the platform outside the concourse on level 4. This area has a few seats but primarily offers an area for standing. You should also be able to hear the music here. Bring the tissues!
Amy, I'm sending pixie dust and a burst of colorful fireworks your way! Celebrate your visit any magical way you can, and remember that
planDisney is always here to help.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
