If I want to book something in May 2024 and have 256 points in the 2023 use year do I bank those to the August 2024 use year?

Welcome to planDisney, Mary, and Welcome Home!

Flexibility is one of the key features of a Disney Vacation Club Membership. We have had years where we banked Vacation Points to be used in the future for longer trips or borrowed Points when we had friends who wanted to join us, and we needed a Two-Bedroom Villa. This flexibility allows our Membership to fit the ever-changing needs of our family. Let's take a look at banking Vacation Points.

Whenever I am considering any transaction with my Vacation Points, I typically start with the Vacation Points Overview section on my Disney Vacation Club account. This summary allows me to see how many Points I have available as well as how many Points I have left to bank. Since you have an August Use Year, you are able to book your Home Resort as far as 11 months in advance, so you should actually be able to book your Home Resort for May 2024 now. If you are looking at other DVC Resorts, then you should be able to make a seven-month reservation for May 2024 this October. I have found one of the most helpful tools to be the Booking Window Calculator. If you click on "My DVC" on the top right-hand corner of the DVC website, then it will take you to "My Dashboard," and the calculator is located halfway down the page. The calculator will tell you exactly when you can use Points based on your Use Year. Since I can't view your exact Points, there is always a possibility you have a different scenario than what I described. I highly recommend placing a quick call to DVC Member Services. They can view your exact Point allotment and verify when you can use your Vacation Points for May 2024 and if any Points need to be banked. I hope this helps you plan your dream DVC trip in 2024!
