Hi Tammy, welcome home and welcome back to planDisney! A visit to the Happiest Place on Earth during the fall? Sounds amazing! I hope you secured some tickets to
Oogie Boogie Bash! Now let’s talk about using your
Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points to find a place to rest your head during your upcoming stay to Disneyland!
Tammy, you’ll be happy to know that you can in fact use your DVC Vacation Points towards a stay at a non-DVC Resort room at Disneyland. This is actually known as an
exchange into the Disney Collection, which includes stays at non-DVC Resorts at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and even some of the overseas theme park resorts like Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland.
In order to exchange your Vacation Points and secure a booking, you’ll have to
contact Member Services. But before you do that, I recommend checking out the point charts so you have an idea of how many points you’ll need. Here’s a
link to the 2026 point chart since you indicated a check-in this month, but for reference I’ll also provide a
link to the 2027 point chart.
Some important tidbits about these kinds of exchanges. You have to be
eligible for Membership Extras to exchange your points towards a non-DVC Resort stay. In addition, you may be charged a transaction fee for the exchange. Finally, for stays in your current Use Year, you need to complete the booking prior to the last 4 months of your Use Year.
Tammy, I sure hope you find the perfect Room and Resort for your stay! I recently stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and
had the best time with some close friends.
Pixar Place Hotel is also on my bucket list! If you have any further questions on getting the most out of your DVC membership, feel free to
contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
